ANNOUNCEMENTS

Pico Closure Begins 8/31, Ends 9/2

If you’ve driven on Pico Avenue near the Ocean Boulevard off-ramp during the last few months, you may have noticed large steel plates over the roadway. They are located in the 100-yard span between the two eastbound Ocean Boulevard off-ramps to Pico Avenue and cover ongoing construction work on a waterline that passes under the road. To accelerate the completion of this work that has involved months of weeknight closures, there will be a 50-hour full closure on this small stretch of Pico Avenue between the off-ramps beginning tonight, August 31, at 9 o’clock and ending at 11:59 on Sunday night, September 2.

All on- and off-ramps in the area will remain open during this time; the full closure only applies to Pico Avenue at this point. For motorists travelling through the area, the detour route will be northbound and southbound Harbor Scenic Drive.

This Labor Day, we honor all the men and women who work on the Bridge Project, and all other workers around the country. There will be no closures of any kind on Monday, September 3.

Enjoy your holiday weekend!
