Watch Grand Opening

Waterway Traffic

Construction of the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement Project's main span has begun over the Back Channel. All recreational and commercial watercraft that travel through the channel between the hours of 6 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday are advised to be aware of and identify the stationed spotter boat (pictured) for safe passage under the Bridge Project. Please expect periodic delays through the Channel during construction and plan your travel accordingly.

In late July, main span construction will proceed over the navigable portion of the channel. For watercraft approaching the Bridge Project from the north or south, CB radio or Marine VHF radio can be used to communicate with the spotter boat to determine safe passage.

If you have any questions about this announcement, please contact the Bridge Communications Team at 562.485.2780 or info@GDBRPProject.com. Thank you!
