In the past, this weekly update has featured drone footage of the Bridge Project. Somehow though, the aerial drone footage featured in the link above looks so much better now that traffic is traveling over the new bridge.
There are great views of the towers and cable stays, damper brackets on the road deck next to the two towers, and an empty Gerald Desmond Bridge, now absent any traffic. At one point, the drone flies above the west tower on Terminal Island, giving a great perspective of the whole bridge with the city of Long Beach in the background. Another terrific shot over the west-side approaches looks east, creating a pyramid-like tunneling effect over the cambered roadway. Check it out...
