Goodyear Blimp Visits Bridge Project

Many of us at the Bridge Project are still stinging from the results of last Sunday’s Big Game and the NFL playoffs in general. When was the last time a team beat two other teams from the same city in the playoffs on its way to a championship? Add the World Series loss in October, and there’s not much love lost between the cities of Los Angeles and Boston.

That being said, it’s time to look ahead to a bright future of football in Los Angeles. In 2022, Super Bowl LVI will be played at the currently under construction Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park in Inglewood. Based on the video above, the Goodyear Blimp appears to be getting an early start on scouting aerials for the game.

In the video, the large airship flies over the two towers of Bridge Project, then heads northwest toward its Goodyear airbase in Carson. Did you know, the name of the current blimp in Southern California is the Spirit of Innovation. Prior blimps here were named the Columbia, the Eagle, and the Spirit of America.

We look forward to the future aerial shots of the new bridge from the blimp during that Super Bowl game, where we hope the Rams, Chargers or both will be playing!
