Last week, we started a virtual tour of the Bridge Project for readers to see the new bridge during the current health crisis, showing you the places you’d see during a standard tour as well as a couple of locations where we’re not able to take the general public.
Janeen Obeid, Structures IQA Engineer, and Daniel Rhodes from the Communications Team on the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement Project will be your socially distanced guides on part 2 of 4 in this series. Last week, we began at the first stop of the traditional monthly tour under the approaches on the east side of the new bridge. This week, we will head up to an active construction zone where the general public cannot go: the main span, where construction-related PPE (personal protection equipment) is a required for safety reasons.
