Bridge Project Photographer Honored

This week’s update reminds us that it’s not just the construction team that’s doing fine work on the Bridge Project. Behind the scenes, there are project managers, financial services and compliance staff, IT personnel, traffic and safety managers, the communicatons team, and so much more. We have a few photographers on staff; each serves a slightly different role. One is a construction QA (quality assurance) documentarian, another captures images for communications purposes, and yet another is a project archivist for the developer.

The latter two are award-winning photographers in the fields of journalism and/or construction. Marie Tagudena is the project photographer and archivist for our developer SFI, and she recently was honored in Engineering News-Record’s (ENR’s) 2019 Photo Contest Winners Gallery, which showcases a collection of the world’s greatest construction photography taken in the past year. Being selected in the annual contest is one of the most prestigious honors in the field of construction. Starting with more than 1,200 entries from around the world, ENR’s panel of judges narrowed the selections to several dozen winners.

Marie actually had two of her photos featured in the winners gallery, which – if you visit the above link – can be found in the #12 and #33 slots. Each photo has a caption that explains what’s going on and Marie’s approach to capturing the image. We encourage you to check out the gallery and her great work. Congratulations, Marie!
