Bridge Project Hosts Port’s Annual PHOTO Program

Every year, the Port of Long Beach presents an annual PHOTO Program in partnership with the Arts Council for Long Beach. Port professional photographers share photographic techniques, and give local professionals and amateurs alike a chance to apply them on a special tour. The best of these images, highlighting the hidden beauty of an industrial port, will form a curated exhibition that will be featured during October for Arts Month at the Expo Arts Center in Bixby Knolls.

This year, the annual PHOTO Program included a special tour of the Bridge Project, enabling participants to capture its unique cable-stayed design, geometric features, and sheer size during the golden hour right before sunset and blue hour right after sunset, two prime periods for the best photography. The Bridge Project portion of the PHOTO Program occurred last night with a dozen local amateur and professional photographers – all of whom are past winners. This group of PHOTO Program all-stars visited the east tower, the top of both westbound approaches and the Pier S area during the two-hour tour.
