So many of the photos of the Bridge Project that we show depict the majestic views from the main span or approaches out to the San Pedro Bay port complex, toward downtown Long Beach or down the coastline toward Huntington Beach. This week’s photo looks back at the iconic bridge from the Seal Beach Municipal Pier during sunset.
Driving distance from the Seal Beach Pier to the current Gerald Desmond Bridge is approximately 9 miles. As the “crow flies,” the distance is a little closer. From here, the cable stays are clearly visible. Also, you can see that the Bridge Project rises above all of the other landmarks. In the coming weeks, the architectural lights will make it just as prominent at night as it is during the day.
