ANNOUNCEMENTS
In this week’s video update, Duane Kenagy, Capital Programs Executive for the Port of Long Beach who oversees the building of the Bridge Project, discusses the end of an amazing three-year run for the orange movable scaffolding system (MSS), which is on its last span. In early 2016, the MSS began construction on the westbound decline approach. Then, in summer 2017, it moved over to the eastbound incline and began building that approach.
Last week, crews performed the last concrete pour on the last segment. There remains a few more weeks of post-tensioning the last segment before the giant machine will be backed up and parked for a few months before being lowered and disassembled.
