With the opening of the Bridge Project about a year away, requests for our on-site construction tours have increased significantly in the last few months. To give interested parties more visibility into which tour dates have open seats, we have changed our monthly tour sign-up page to now use Eventbrite. The new-look page gives you the ability to register for tours through April 2019. For example, while November’s tour is booked, we have a few open seats for the one in December.
These behind-the-scenes tours are led by a senior engineer on the Bridge Project who covers the different types of bridge construction, immense scope of the work, and fun facts about the histroy and building of the new bridge. Tours last approximately 90 minutes and occur on the third Thursday of each month, except November and December due to the holidays. Tours are free and parking is provided.
With the blue movable scaffolding system (MSS) finished with its work and the orange one about six weeks away from completion, now is a great time to sign up. To get started, visit the site tour page on our website and click on the “Sign Up for Free Tour” button.
