On Wednesday, the Bridge Project invited local news media to visit the new bridge and hear brief remarks from Long Beach business leaders about the importance of the bridge. As we have many times throughout the project, we escorted media members into the construction area and onto the bridge. The media in turn are able to raise awareness of the impending bridge opening.
We’d like to thank Kraig Kojian, president and CEO of the Downtown Long Beach Alliance; Steve Goodling, president and CEO of the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau; and Weston LaBar, CEO of the Harbor Trucking Association, for joining Port of Long Beach Executive Director Mario Cordero on Wednesday.
Business leaders emphasized the new bridge’s importance to economic activity in the region.
